Tour Down Under Stage 1: Someone Needs to Start the Season

Here we go!  The 2017 road cycling season gets underway today in Adelaide, South Australia.  As per usual, the opening stage was opened with a break away, unfortunately for Laurens de Vreese (Astana) no one else was willing to go on the attack with him.  The peloton faced rather severely high temperatures, so much so that the stage was eventually shorten by about 35 kilometers.  De Vreese went from the very start of the stage building up almost five minutes on the 134 riders behind.  With a solo effort, the changes of success are basically nil.  Today was no different than the odds would indicate.

This is a small watercolors and ink painting measuring just 4"x6" and was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  This painting and all of my Olympics artwork will be available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To purchase this particular painting just follow the direct link at the end of this post.  It is only $75 USD and international shipping is available.
