Doha 2016, Elite Men's Road Race: Two in a Row!

Not since 2007 has someone done what Peter Sagan (Slovakia) did today, win back to back World Championship titles.  I feel sure that never before has the complete podium been populated by three riders who have all worn the Rainbow Jersey.  While it was Sagan (Champion in 2015), it was a clearly disappointed Mark Cavendish (Great Britain) who took Silver (Champion in 2011) and Tom Boonen took silver (Champion in 2004).  It was an amazing cadre of sprinters who came to the line in Doha, and an equally surprising number who had missed the splits and the chance to compete for the Rainbow Jersey.

This is a small watercolors and ink painting measuring just 4"x6" and was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  This painting and all of my Olympics artwork will be available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To purchase this particular painting just follow the direct link at the end of this post.  It is only $75 USD and international shipping is available.
